1) Free Domain - If a company provide free domain, is it registered in your name and if not, pay to ensure that it is and what is the subsequent rate for renewal.

2) Capacity and bandwidth, transfer limit and additional cost if limit is surpassed, how many domain names are allowed on one package, average bandwidth upload and download.

3) Contact their support and see how fast they respond to your queries. Expensive hosting doesn't mean they will return to you faster.

4) Features like user friendly control panel, php, database mySQL support, SSL etc

For web hosting, always remember to study the features listed if they meet your requirements and future expansion. Cheap doesn't mean it is no good or expensive doesn't mean it is better.
